LEAD A GROUP

Create a Space Where Lives Are Changed

You don’t have to have it all together to lead a group—none of us do. What you do need is a willing heart. If you are open to letting God use you, He can do more through your life than you could ever imagine.

At Christian Life Austin, we believe God uses Groups to transform people from the inside out. Every conversation, every prayer, every moment of community can change a life. And as a Group Leader, you get a front-row seat to the life-change God brings.

If you’ve been looking for a way to make a difference… this is it.
If you’ve been waiting for the perfect moment… this is it.
If you’ve wondered whether God could use you… He can, and He will.

Say yes to leading a Group.

Your yes could be the beginning of someone’s breakthrough—and maybe even your own.

WHAT TYPE OF GROUP SHOULD I LEAD?

LEAD A LIFEGROUP

LEAD A LIFEGROUP

At its core, a LifeGroup is less about what you do and more about who you do it with. We all need people—real connection, real community, and real encouragement. That’s why LifeGroups exist. They create spaces where people can belong, grow, and experience God together.

LifeGroups at CLA are interest-based, which means you start with something you already enjoy and simply invite others along. It can be a sports group, a coffee hangout, a hiking group, a parenting group, or a Bible study—anything you love can become a LifeGroup.

And here’s the best part: you don’t have to be a Bible scholar or have years of experience. Whether you’re brand-new to leading or you’ve done it many times, we need you. Your interests, your story, and your willingness could open the door for someone else’s breakthrough.

Whatever you enjoy doing, make it a group—and watch how God uses it to impact lives.

LEAD A FREEDOM GROUP

LEAD A FREEDOM GROUP

Help Someone Step Into the Life God Designed for Them.

Freedom Groups aren’t just another study—they’re a journey toward healing, breakthrough, and real transformation. Over 13 weeks, groups dig into biblical truths that help people break free from past hurts, confront lies, and walk in the abundant life Christ promised.

Each week, the Freedom curriculum tackles identity, forgiveness, strongholds, and God’s purpose, helping people remove every obstacle to intimacy with God and experience true freedom.

If you’ve completed a Freedom Group or attended the Freedom Conference, you know how powerful it is. Now it’s your turn to lead others into the same freedom you found.

We’re looking for leaders this semester who are ready to say “yes” and help others experience life-change.

Requirements to Lead:
• Completed a 12-week Freedom Group
• Attended a Freedom Conference
• Ready to help others live FREE

Lead the way—freedom follows.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Not at all. You don’t lead because you’ve “arrived”—you lead because you’re willing. We give you everything you need, and God uses your availability far more than your expertise. Groups are interest-based, meaning they are built around the hobbies and interests that you already have!

Most leaders spend about 90 minutes a week hosting their group. That’s it. The semester is short, simple, and designed to fit real-life schedules.

Yes! You choose the day, time, location, and format. Coffee shop? Gym? Your living room? Whatever works best for you—flexibility is built in. Please note that the church campus is full for this upcoming semester.

God will put the people in your group that He wants you to lead! Our team helps promote your group, and we see great engagement every semester.

“I don’t know, but I’ll find out” is a great answer. You’re not expected to solve every situation—our pastors and staff are here to support you anytime. Your goal as a group leader is to make this big church feel small through community.

Absolutely. Many leaders team up. Co-leading makes it easier, more fun, and helps create long-term leadership strength.

Life happens! Co-leaders or a simple reschedule make it easy. As long as you communicate, it’s no problem at all.

We host two semesters a year (Spring & Fall). Each semester is 13-weeks long. Groups can meet weekly, every other week, twice a month or monthly. It is your group!

Absolutely! We offer a Group Leader Training Class each semester. Scroll up to see the available dates. We also have a Group Leader Chat each semester with our Pastoral Team and other Group Leaders to help answer questions, pray for you and support you!

Yes! If it builds community and helps people grow in their relationship with God, it’s a LifeGroup. Your interests are the perfect launching pad. We do ask that all groups find a small way to share their faith.

Two or three people is a win! We don’t measure success by size—only by the lives impacted.

Your group can choose what works best—bring kids, rotate sitters, or choose a kid-free location. There’s no one-size-fits-all approach.

Yes! In fact, most of our best leaders started with zero experience. If you can care about people, you can lead a group. We’ll help with the rest.
